Learning Intention: To understand that numbers can have value below zero. These are called negative integers. |
Success Criteria:

Integers are all whole numbers (think numbers without fractions or decimals) and can be either positive or negative.
Negative integers are the numbers left of zero on a number line. They have a value less than zero.
Positive integers have a value greater than zero and are located to the right of zero on a number line.
Negative integers are the numbers left of zero on a number line. They have a value less than zero.
Positive integers have a value greater than zero and are located to the right of zero on a number line.
Learning Intention: to be able to locate objects using the Cartesian Co-ordinate System.
Success Criteria:
- I understand that the Cartesian plane is a graphical and visual way of describing location.
- I understand that a Cartesian Plane has four quadrants that are made up of two intersecting number lines.
- I understand that the X axis is the horizontal axis and the Y axis is the vertical axis.
- I understand that an ordered pair describes location using the X and Y axis.
- I understand that X axis is the first number and the Y axis is the second number of an ordered pair (x,y).
- I can describe an objects location using ordered pairs.
